Rebuilt my website

My old site didn't feel like me anymore. It was a snapshot of a different time, and I've been making a lot more than that since.

Most of what I make doesn't fit anywhere. It's not client work, it's not a band thing, it's just stuff I got curious about and couldn't leave alone. It needed somewhere to live.

A normal portfolio is a grid of finished things. That's not how any of this happens for me. Music turns into an app idea, an app turns into a game, a game sends me down a hole about physics. Everything I get into leaks into everything else.

So instead of a grid, the home page is a trip through the inside of my head. You start at an eye, go through it, and keep falling.

An eye staring back at you. Through the pupil, into a body coming apart into stars. Down a well of staircases that don't end, with every side quest hanging on the wall as an engraved plate. A split sphere that pulls itself back together. A door of light on black water. Then a summit, under an eclipse.

The summit is my favorite part. The planets circling the eclipse are the same ones you look down on at the very start. By the end you're standing under them, looking up. Same sky, different place to stand. There's always another staircase.

Everything is drawn in code to look like an old star atlas: thin engraved lines, halftone dots, a lot of violet. It's built with Next.js and Three.js, and it lives on Vercel.

I wanted to update it from my phone in about two minutes. Every side quest is one file. Drop in some screenshots and a link, and the plate shows up in the well. The Now page shows the last time I touched it, so if it gets old, you'll know.

I already changed the design twice. It'll probably change again.

Next up is more side quests. A few are already waiting in the wings. Someday maybe streams, a members club and some merch. For now, poke around. If something here makes you want to make something, that's the whole point.
